Tooth Spritz Toothpaste Alternative- brush with soap! (Giveaway)

This is what I use to brush my teeth with, and Monica of Rose of Sharon Acres has offered some to you with a giveaway! There will be three winners; Winner one will receive Tooth Chips Spritz 2 oz, Winner two will receive Tooth Chips/Powder, and winner three will receive two bars of their choice from her Natural Handmade Soaps (I use these too, they’re really nice!).

Why would I brush my teeth with soap?

A couple years ago I was looking at the ingredients in my tooth paste, and saw some I didn’t recognize or wasn’t comfortable with.  I was specifically looking for a toothpaste that could remineralize, and I learned that to help your teeth remineralize you should avoid glycerin in your toothpaste, which coats the teeth.   Also wanting to avoid fluoride, I felt that simple soap for teeth was the best option.  I’ve been using it for a year now, and I really like it.  I’ve been looking more into the nutrition aspect of preventing tooth decay (I’ll do another post on this sometime) but something’s working- my teeth are improving!

After using soap on my teeth for a year, they’re much less sensitive to cold, and the parts of them that used to be ‘clear’ are filling in with the solid white that teeth should be.  I feel like soap really cleans my teeth well, and the taste isn’t bad at all. I had tried brushing with baking soda before, and I just couldn’t deal with that taste. Soap doesn’t bother me (we like the peppermint flavor) or my children at all.  My son will even get up and ‘spritz’ his tooth brush with soap when it’s time to brush.

I would love to try the tooth chips and especially to have my husband try them. He didn’t go to the dentist for about 15 years and now is dealing with a lot of long term damage. One thing is that his teeth look very thin and he has sensitivity. I would LOVE for him to be able to better care for his teeth and not feel like he’s fighting a losing battle since he is working so hard to change things and be a good example to our kids.

  32. Corinne says:

I would like to try the tooth chips soap since they say sensitivity stops with use of this product. I have terrible sensitivity issues and have used Sensodyne for years. All “natural” products I have tried did not cut it. Presently I use a Jason natural toothpaste alternately with Sensodyne. It works, and I figure using the “chemicals” only half the time is better than nothing!

  33. Corinne says:

Oops! I should have written the above in two posts. I use Sensodyne alternately with Jason toothpaste.

  34. Roberta says:

Right now I am using Arm and Hammer baking soda toothpaste. I have just started doing research on alternatives. Your contest is at the perfect time! :)
